“My Hero Academia” on brief hiatus for creator’s health issues

My Hero Academia, a popular manga and anime series, has announced a two-week hiatus for the manga due to concerns over the creator’s health. Kōhei Horikoshi, the creator of the series, has previously taken a break in December 2021 for the same reason. This announcement of hiatus comes as the second one in less than a year for the series, as the manga has experienced a series of breaks in the past. Horikoshi has apologized for these breaks in the past, and he has acknowledged that his schedule has been a mess.

The manga was originally scheduled to release a new chapter in the 10th issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine on February 6th. However, with the hiatus announcement, the release of the new chapter will be delayed until February 20th, when it will be published in the 12th issue of the same magazine.

In addition to the hiatus, the English dub of the anime series is also delayed, and fans are asked to keep an eye out for updates regarding the new air date for Season 6, episode 129.

My Hero Academia follows the story of Izuku Midoriya, a young boy born without any powers in a world where superheroes with powers called “Quirks” exist. Midoriya dreams of becoming a hero and is scouted by Japan’s number one hero, All Might, who bestows his Quirk on the young boy and becomes a mentor to guide him through the trials of becoming a hero.

The manga was first published in Weekly Shōnen Jump in July 2014 and has since been adapted into an anime series. The sixth season of the anime is currently airing, with surprises in store for fans, including the long-awaited revelation of Dabi’s true identity as Toya Todoroki.

My Hero Academia has gained a massive following around the world, with fans eagerly anticipating new manga releases and anime episodes. Despite the short hiatus, fans remain supportive of the creator’s decision to prioritize his health and wish him a speedy recovery.
