Crunchyroll to stream Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc Anime

On Friday, Crunchyroll made an announcement confirming that it will be streaming the highly anticipated Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Swordsmith Village Arc (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Katanakaji no Sato-Hen) anime. The streaming service stated that it will be broadcasting the anime weekly, exclusively in North America, South America, and Europe, starting April 9. The service will also produce English, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French, German, and Hindi dubs for the anime.

The anime is set to premiere on April 9 at 11:55 p.m. JST on Fuji TV with a one-hour special, and before that, two specials for the previous Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc anime will be shown on April 1 and April 8. The theatrical screenings of the anime began on February 3 in 418 theaters in Japan, featuring episodes 10 and 11 of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc, as well as the first Swordsmith Village Arc episode. The screenings will play in theaters in over 95 countries and territories.

The new arc will be directed by Haruo Sotozaki, with character design and chief animation director Akira Matsushima, animation studio ufotable, and the main cast all returning.

The first television anime adaptation of Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga series premiered in April 2019. Aniplex of America licensed the series, and it was streamed on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Funimation. In October 2019, Adult Swim’s Toonami programming block premiered the television anime.

The Demon Slayer – Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train anime film was released in Japan in October 2020, and it was streamed by Crunchyroll and Funimation. The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc, a seven-episode arc that adapts the Mugen Train film, premiered in October 2021. The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc (Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yūkaku-hen) television anime then premiered in December 2021 with a one-hour special, and both Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Mugen Train Arc and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc anime.
