New release date for Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King movie

Black Clover fans have eagerly been awaiting the release of the latest installment in the series, Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, but unfortunately, it has been delayed. Originally, it was scheduled to be released on March 31, 2023, on Netflix worldwide, but according to a recent announcement, the premiere has been pushed back to June 16th, 2023, due to production delays caused by COVID-19.

While the news of the delay is disappointing, it could actually work in the studio’s favor, allowing them to further improve the film’s quality. The creator of the manga, Yuki Tabata, is serving as the chief supervisor and character designer for the movie, ensuring that it stays true to the original story. In addition, the voice actors from the anime series will be reprising their respective roles in the movie, adding to the continuity of the franchise.

Fans can also look forward to new characters, such as Konrad Leto, a former Wizard King, voiced by Toshihiko Seki, and Marie Iitoyo, who will voice Milly Maxwell. Fumiya Takahashi will play the role of Jester Galandros, and Miyuki Sawashiro and Houchu Ohtsuka will play the roles of Princia and Edward, respectively. Treasure, a popular Japanese boy band, will perform the theme song of the movie titled “Here I Stand.”

Despite the divisive opinions on the anime adaptation of Yuki Tabata’s Black Clover, the series as a whole is extremely popular. The manga, which was launched in 2015, has 33 volumes to date and has sold over 15 million copies. It has also inspired an anime adaptation, multiple games, and novels. Yuki Tabata shows no signs of stopping, and with the quality of the series, there’s no reason for him to put the pen down.

The Black Clover anime follows the story of a young boy named Asta, who dreams of becoming the Wizard King. Asta doesn’t possess the same level of talent as his friend and rival, Yuno, but with hard work and determination, he believes he can become the next Wizard King. Asta and Yuno end up joining different Magic Knight squads, taking the first step towards their respective dreams. With 170 episodes under its belt, the anime has proven to be a hit with fans, and Sword of the Wizard King promises to deliver even more excitement and action.
