Demon Slayer movie gets R-rating

Demon Slayer fans, get ready for some exciting news! The beloved anime series is on the verge of its third season, and fans can’t wait to see what’s in store for Tanjiro and his friends. While the exact release date for season three has not been announced yet, fans can get a taste of what’s to come by watching Demon Slayer’s Swordsmith Village movie, which has already been released in Japan.

But that’s not all – we’ve just learned that the movie will be rated R when it comes to theaters in the United States. This rating has been given due to the movie’s bloody images and violent scenes, which are certainly not for the faint of heart. This is actually the second R-rated movie that Demon Slayer has received in the United States, as the anime’s first movie, Mugen Train, was also rated R for similar reasons.

However, it’s worth noting that the rating for Swordsmith Village differs in Japan, where it’s rated PG-12. This means that audiences under the age of 12 should have parental guidance before watching the movie. In the United States, the equivalent rating would be PG-13, but Demon Slayer’s graphic violence pushed it into the R-rated category.

For those who haven’t watched Demon Slayer yet, there’s still time to catch up before season three and the new movie hit the screens. The anime is available to stream in its entirety on Hulu and Crunchyroll, while Viz Media has the complete manga series available in print and on the Shonen Jump app.

So mark your calendars for March 4th, the day when Swordsmith Village will be released in the United States. And keep an eye out for the highly anticipated third season of Demon Slayer, which is expected to debut on television later this April. With all this excitement and action coming our way, we can’t wait to see what’s next for Tanjiro and his friends!
