In the Dragon Ball universe, Tien is known as one of the most powerful fighters who possesses an extraordinary skill set. However, despite being a formidable warrior, he still knows of a technique that could change the game for Dragon Ball forever, potentially saving countless lives in the series’ dangerous world.
In Dragon Ball Super, Tien was given limited screen time, despite winning the 22nd World Tournament. The mighty warrior is holding back a technique that could save many innocent lives in the series’ dangerous world. During Goku’s younger years, Earth was a less chaotic place to live, with fewer ki blasts and explosions illuminating the skies. Now that dangerous villains are blowing up large parts of the planet on a semi-normal basis, Tien should be using his teachings that were at one point exclusive to the Crane Hermit School to help as many people as possible.
While power levels and special transformations have helped warriors like Goku, Vegeta, and even Piccolo grow to new heights of power, earthling characters like Tien and Krillin have been looked down upon as weak or useless by audiences. Both characters had some time to shine in Dragon Ball Super, with Tien and Chiaotzu even opening up their own martial arts dojo. Still, Tien could be doing a lot more to help the lives residing on the planet that’s been attacked by aliens, time travelers, and androids by teaching people how to fly.
The ability to fly was a surprise revelation by both Tien and Chiaotzu in Dragon Ball. Since then, the technique has been taught and mastered by several warriors who have risked their lives to defend Earth. However, Tien has done nothing to teach the skill to the masses who are under constant threat from powerful forces. If Tien were to teach the technique, it could be a game-changer for the series, as it would help people escape the many dangers that occur in the world of Dragon Ball.
Several times throughout the series, enemies like Doctor Gero and Majin Buu make their presence known by terrorizing cities filled with people who may have escaped to safety if they had known how to fly. The skill can be taught, and lessons could even be sold for profit through Bulma’s Capsule Corp, which has already gained worldwide fame from its physics-defying technologies.
Flying isn’t the only technique that could be taught that would dramatically shift the landscape of Dragon Ball. While Vegeta has learned Goku’s Instant Transmission technique in Dragon Ball Super’s manga, it’s the first time anyone else has been taught that move, which would have helped drastically in several perilous moments throughout the Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super series. However, if everyone in the world of Dragon Ball Super were taught techniques like flying and the use of Instant Transmission from heroes such as Tien, the story would have a hard time maintaining the tension it so often relies on to deliver the moments of triumph that keep fans coming back for more.
