Odex releases three English-subtitled trailers for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba film

The Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba film will be released in Japan on October 16 and Odex will screen it in several countries. The main staff members of the television anime are returning for the sequel, with LiSA performing the film’s theme song. Aniplex of America has described the anime’s story, which follows a boy named Tanjiro who becomes a demon slayer after his family is slaughtered by a demon and his sister is transformed into one. The manga, which ended in May 2020, has sold over 80 million copies.

Odex, a Singapore-based distribution company, has announced that they will be screening the highly anticipated anime film, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train” in several Southeast Asian countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Myanmar, and Brunei. The film, which is a sequel to the hit anime series “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba,” is set to open in Japan on October 16th, and in Thailand on November 5th.

The film’s main staff members from the television anime series are returning to work on the sequel, including director Haruo Sotozaki and studio ufotable. The film will also feature a new theme song called “Homura” (Flame), which will be performed by LiSA, who also sang the opening theme for the anime series.

For those unfamiliar with the story, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is set in Japan during the Taisho Period and follows a young boy named Tanjiro who becomes a demon slayer after his family is brutally murdered by a demon, leaving his younger sister Nezuko as the only survivor. The anime series premiered in April 2019 and concluded with its 26th episode in September of the same year. The series has been immensely popular, with the manga selling over 80 million copies worldwide.

TOHO and Aniplex are handling the film’s distribution in Japan, with Aniplex of America handling the film’s release in North America. Fans of the franchise who missed the chance to see the film in theaters due to the COVID-19 pandemic can look forward to its upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release in Japan on June 16th.
