This popular anime series premiered its third season on April 9th, 2023, with the first episode of the “Swordsmith Village Arc” available for streaming on Crunchyroll. According to Crunchyroll, each new episode will have the usual simulcast on their platform, but the exact time at which these episodes premiere has yet to be determined. However, sources suggest that it may be around 2:15 GMT (approximately 10:15 a.m. ET).
Interestingly, “Demon Slayer” season three was already released in a film format in theaters. The movie version of the season, which was released in Japan in 2022, raked in a whopping $30 million in the box office, while the North American release earned $10 million.
For those unfamiliar with the series, “Demon Slayer” follows the story of a young boy named Tanjiro, whose family is brutally killed by a demon. The only survivor, his sister Nezuko, is turned into a demon herself, and the two set out on a journey to avenge their family and find a cure that will turn Nezuko back into a human.
In the upcoming season, Tanjiro heads to the Swordsmith Village, where he reunites with two Hashira members of the Demon Slayer Corps highest-ranking swordsmen – Mist Hashira Muichiro Tokita and Love Hashira Mitsuri Kanroji. As the Crunchyroll news release puts it, “With the shadows of demons lurking near, a new battle begins for Tanjiro and his comrades.”
