Demon Slayer stage play starts in November

A new stage play adaptation of the popular anime and manga series Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has been announced to run in Japan this coming November and December. The play, entitled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Stage Play Part 4 Entertainment District Arc, is based on the Entertainment District arc of the Demon Slayer series, and will be performed in Tokyo and Osaka.

Unlike the previous three Demon Slayer stage plays, which all starred Ryouta Kobayashi as Tanjiro Kamado, the lead role in this stage play will be played by Shougo Sakamoto. Meanwhile, Ryoushirou Tsuji will be playing the role of Uzui Tengen. Kenichi Suemitsu is returning as both the director and scriptwriter for the play, while the returning cast includes Karen Takahashi as Nezuko Kamado, Keisuke Ueda as Zenitsu Agatsuma, and Yuugo Satou as Inosuke Hashibira.

The first two parts of the Demon Slayer stage play premiered in 2020 and 2021, respectively, while the third part, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Stage Play: Part 3 Mugen Dream Train, debuted last year. The announcement of this new stage play is sure to excite fans of the series, who have been eagerly awaiting the return of the franchise in any form.

The original manga of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge, was published by Shueisha from 2016 to 2020 and consists of 23 tankoubon volumes. The anime adaptation of the series, produced by Ufotable, premiered in 2019 and was followed by the successful film Demon Slayer – Kimetsu No Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train in 2020. Since then, there has been a TV broadcast version of Mugen Train, the Entertainment District Arc, and a compilation movie entitled Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village-. The newest addition to the anime series is the Swordsmith Village Arc, which is currently airing this season.

The success of the Demon Slayer franchise has captured the hearts of fans worldwide, with its compelling storyline, visually stunning animation, and lovable characters. Fans are eagerly anticipating the release of the stage play adaptation, hoping that it will capture the essence of the series and provide an entertaining and immersive experience.
